On November 18 the new exhbition "PERGAMON. Masterpieces from the Ancient Metropolis with a 360° Panorama by Yadegar Asisi" opened for the first time. The too long name is often replaced by the acronym "Pergamon360". Most interesting is the mix of real ancient pieces such as statues with modern multimedia techniques and formats. "The panorama takes visitors back to the year AD 129, showing the ancient city of Pergamon on the west coast of Asia Minor. Yadegar Asisi reconstructs the city as it was during the time of the High Roman Empire under the rule of the Emperor Hadrian (AD 117–138). Embedded in the terraces of the Acropolis atop the city’s 300-metre-high hill, monumental buildings, among them several temples and a massive theatre, blend into the landscape of hilly peaks." My personal impression: I really liked my visit but as someone who lived in Berlin in the 90's and who experienced the reunification and the days, months and years after that I missed a lot of things that were important for people in Berlin and Germany. More than Techno the 90's were a challenge of change that was never done before on the planet. Photos from the exhibition: Tip: Book tickets online to save 10% and take some time. Welcome2Berlin.
