THE ESSENTIAL
German Bauhaus celebrates this year its anniversary "100 years of Bauhaus". What started as an art school in Weimar became a movement which transferred its principles into applied architecture, arts and hand craft. Until today the buildings are unique and remarkable in their styles. The school was also present in Berlin and Dessau.
Public news, TV & radio station rbb provided an overview map of renowned Bauhaus architecture examples in and around Berlin. Travelers can find Bauhaus architecture in a lot of states of Germany (page). The Bauhaus-Archiv / Museum für Gestaltung in Berlin is currently being renovated in accordance with historic monument requirements during the next few years.
